African Foundation for Development (AFFORD)

Co-Secretariat

An international organisation established in 1994, with a mission “to expand and enhance the contributions Africans in the diaspora make to African development.”

AFFORD supports our APPG with a focus on areas that concern the restitution of human remains and looted cultural artefacts, especially advocating for the four pathways of restitution; advocacy to influence national and institution-level policy and practice; and building partnerships with African institutions using the expertise of museum and diaspora professionals.

Stop the Maangamizi

Co-Secretariat

Stop The Maangamizi: We Charge Genocide/Ecocide Campaign (SMWeCGEC) is a Pan-Afrikan liberation advocacy campaigning formation of the International Social Movement for Afrikan Reparations (ISMAR).

Stop the Maangamizi campaign emphasises reparations as a political struggle and a social movement that must be built from the ground up. They hold that reparations will only be secured as a result of continued movement building and harnessing the power of the national will and strategic geopolitical interests of people of Afrikan ancestry and heritage.

*Maangamizi is the Kiswahili term for the continuum of chattel enslavement, colonialism and neocolonialism.
